Poetry Born
When dreams comes, in the middle of the night
And you wake, sometimes with fright.
Or when you are struck at middle of the day
With an extra piercing bright Sun's ray.
When you see wisdom written on a page,
Or hear words spoken by an ancient sage.
The impact upon an open mind
Can lend an effect, almost sublime.
And cause you to sit in a quiet place
And take heed of life's hectic pace.
And take a pad upon your knee,
Sitting beneath a spreading oak tree
And write a passage, when you feel free.
You can take a word that blends well,
And find another, your story to tell.
One that cause your soul and heart to entwine,
That will free the spirit and sooth the mind.
